I consider myself lucky, and very fortunate.
Sure, I work super hard, but I am lucky and thankful for things I have.
The top list of things I am thankful for is this:
- My family
- Coming to US in 1991
- My genes (both grandpas are really smart)
Since coming to US, I’ve had a truly remarkable life, and a bunch of great opportunities.
I’ve done two startups, taught at NYU, wrote for major online publications, wrote science papers and articles, got a bunch of degrees and met a ton of super smart people.
But my current job as the Managing Director at Techstars is just so unique and different.
I get to interact with a special kind of people. The crazy, unstoppable, relentless dreamers. The Founders.
Founders are unlike anyone else you meet.
They are obsessed. They are in a hurry. They have secrets. They are curious. They are eager. They interrupt, and listen carefully. They fight. They go through the walls. They are like babies. They wouldn’t take NO for an answer.
Founders are the reason I get up every day.
Founders give me so much energy. Founders make me younger. Founders make me excited about the future, and the present.
Founders make me happy.
This Thanksgiving, more than ever, I feel grateful to have the job at Techstars, and to work with the founders. It really is a great thing.
